Terms of service.
These terms cover your use of our website and your purchase of a custom Murphy bed or side cabinet from Southeast Murphy Beds. Please read them before you order.

01Accepting these terms
By using our website, our design tools, or placing an order, you agree to these Terms of Service, our Shipping, Delivery & Installation Policy, our Custom Orders & Cancellations Policy, and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the site or place an order. You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract to order from us.
02Our products
Southeast Murphy Beds designs and builds Murphy beds (vertical and horizontal) and the side cabinets that stand beside them. Every order placed on this site is a custom order, built to the size, layout, measurements, color, and options you choose.
Photos, 3D previews, drawings, and descriptions are there to help you picture your design. They are representations only. Natural variation in wood grain, color, and finish is expected in a handmade piece, and your finished piece may differ slightly from what you see on screen.
03Pricing & quotes
Prices are in U.S. dollars and may change at any time before you order. The price that applies is the total shown at checkout when you complete your purchase. A product's price includes curbside delivery in the lower 48 states and Washington, DC, and, inside our install area, installation by our crew if you choose it. Sales tax, where we are required to collect it, is added at checkout and shown before you pay.
Saved designs and quotes are for your convenience and do not guarantee a price or availability. We work hard to show accurate prices, but if a price is clearly wrong, we reserve the right to correct it and to cancel any affected order, with a full refund.
04Orders & payment
When you place an order, you authorize us to charge your payment method for the total shown at checkout, including any applicable taxes. Payments are processed by a third-party payment processor.
Your order is an offer to buy. A contract is formed when we confirm and accept it. Once accepted, we begin building your order to your specifications.
05Our right to refuse service
We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone, and to refuse or cancel any order, at our discretion and for any lawful reason. For example, we may refuse or cancel an order when:
- We suspect fraud or an unauthorized payment.
- There is an error in the price, the product information, or the design.
- The delivery address is outside the area we ship to, or, for installation, outside the area we install in.
- We have reason to believe the measurements are wrong, or the space cannot safely take the piece.
- We are unable to build, ship, deliver, or install the order.
- Our staff are treated in a threatening, abusive, or unsafe way.
We may also refuse, delay, or stop an installation on site, as described in our Shipping, Delivery & Installation Policy. If we refuse or cancel your order before it ships or is delivered, we refund everything you paid. We never refuse service on the basis of any characteristic protected by law.
06Custom orders & cancellations
Because every order is built for you, custom orders cannot be returned or exchanged. You may cancel for a full refund, with no fees, within 7 days of placing your order. After that, your order is final. Damage and defects are handled by repair or replacement, not as a return. The full terms are in our Custom Orders & Cancellations Policy.
07Shipping, delivery & installation
Every order is flat-packed, and at checkout you choose how it reaches you. Delivery (curbside) ships by freight to addresses in the lower 48 states and Washington, DC, to the curb with a liftgate; you carry it in and put it together, following our assembly guide. Our warranty on a piece you assemble yourself is in section 10. For Alaska, Hawaii and the U.S. territories, contact us.
Delivery + Installation is offered within 100 miles of our Ringgold workshop: our own crew delivers your order, puts it together and fixes it to the wall.
Both are included in the price. Inspect a freight delivery before you sign for it and note any damage on the carrier's receipt. Build, ship, delivery and install dates are estimates and are not guaranteed. The details are in our Shipping, Delivery & Installation Policy.
08Measurements & fit
Finished sizes for every product are shown on our website. It is your responsibility to confirm the piece will fit the space and can be carried into it. Problems caused by wrong measurements or a space that cannot be reached are not product defects, and they do not make a custom order returnable.
09Finishes & natural wood
If you choose the unfinished option, your bed is delivered sanded and ready for your own finish. Natural wood varies, so the final color, grain, and any blotching are your responsibility. We recommend testing any finish on a hidden area first. Painted and stained finishes are applied as selected; slight differences between the on-screen color and the finished piece are normal. Free samples are available on our samples page.
10Lifetime Limited Warranty
We stand behind everything we build. Your Southeast Murphy Beds order is covered by a Lifetime Limited Warranty for the original purchaser, under normal residential use. It starts on the day our crew installs your order or, if you put it together yourself, on the day it is delivered. We warrant the lift mechanism, moving hardware, cabinetry, and factory-applied finish against defects in materials and workmanship for as long as the original purchaser owns it.
This warranty does not cover normal wear and tear, scratches, dents, fading or color variation natural to wood, damage from misuse, accidents, alterations, improper assembly or installation (see below), customer-applied finishes (including unfinished pieces finished by the customer), exposure to excess moisture or sunlight, or any commercial or rental use. This warranty is not transferable.
Our only obligation under this warranty is, at our option, to repair or replace the affected part. To make a claim, contact us with your order number, a description of the problem, and photos.
If you put it together yourself
With Delivery (curbside), you, or someone you hire, assemble the piece and fix it to the wall. Your warranty on the materials and hardware stays the same: if a part, the lift mechanism, the hardware, the cabinetry or the factory finish fails because of a defect in materials or workmanship, we repair or replace that part, as above.
We are not responsible for the assembly or the installation, or for what follows from them. The warranty does not cover, and we are not liable for, any problem, failure, damage or injury caused by assembly or installation that was not done by our crew, including:
- not following the assembly guide we provide for your piece, or skipping or changing a step;
- a cabinet that is not fixed to the wall framing as the guide says, before the bed is opened, or a wall, floor or framing that cannot hold it;
- fasteners, anchors or parts other than the ones we supply or the guide names;
- parts lost, broken or damaged during assembly or installation.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any damage to your home or property, including walls, floors, ceilings, wiring and plumbing, or for any personal injury to you or anyone else, arising from the assembly, installation, anchoring or use of a piece that our crew did not install.
11Disclaimers & limitation of liability
Except as expressly stated in these terms or our warranty, our products and website are provided "as is" and "as available," and we disclaim all other warranties to the fullest extent permitted by law, including implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Southeast Murphy Beds will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, arising out of or related to your use of the site or any product. Our total liability for any claim relating to a product will not exceed the amount you paid for that product. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law. Please follow all instructions and safety guidance we give you for assembling, installing and using your piece. The limits on our responsibility for a piece you assemble or install yourself are in section 10.
12Intellectual property
All content on this website, including text, graphics, logos, images, 3D models, designs, and software, is owned by or licensed to Southeast Murphy Beds and is protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from it without our written permission.
13Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. You agree that any dispute relating to these terms or your purchase will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Georgia, and you consent to their jurisdiction, except where applicable law provides otherwise.
14Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date above. Changes apply to orders placed and site use after the update takes effect, and your continued use of the site means you accept the revised terms.
